Hair Trends 2019: Part 2, Grey Hair
Hair Trends 2019: Part 2, Grey Hair
Grey hair has had a bad rap for a long time. Though grey hair can come at a range of different ages, it is often associated with ‘getting old.’ On the contrary, old is such a relative term. My kids call me old and I’m in my 30’s. I joke with my oldest brother and tell him he's old because he’s in his 40’s. But what’s amazing is the things people are doing at all ages. Women are still bearing children in their late 40’s even 50’s. To that point, the beauty industry is moving toward ‘age inclusivity,’ which is just such a breath of fresh air. It’s a relief not to have to dye your hair to hide grey hairs, if you don’t want to. Now you have the freedom to choose.
According to Pinterest, the search term “going grey” was up 879% this year (just a reminder, we're in our third month of the year)! If you’re starting to go grey or experiencing patchiness in your hair color, you may still want to work with a hairstylist to clean that up a bit. Or, perhaps you’re trying to get rid of old color and need to shed some inches off your hair to make the transition. You may even want to embrace the blunt bob and fashion the first two hair trends of 2019. There seem to be many more options nowadays.
